This large bridge construction has eliminated the need for a crane.
A new technology for bridge construction has eliminated the need for a crane. The SLJ900 / 32 has a weight of 580 tons and a length of 91 meters. This device is designed by Shijiazhuang Railway Design Institute.
This new bridge building process may be complex, but in fact it is very simple. This process starts when the device takes a new rod. The device moves to the bridge where the columns are being erected. This process reduces the structure of the pneumatic support, which makes the machine as stable as the first column. When the first rod moves along the car to connect to the second column, the second structure of the support is reduced to the column. By installing both on-premises support structures, the device has a solid foundation for inserting the new rod.
This device now moves forward and carries the bar. The rod is located between the starting point of the bridge and the first column. When the rod is secured, the device is backward with two portable support structures. When it returns to another rod, it moves during the first installment and repeats the process until the next bar is placed between the first and second columns.
The SLJ900 / 32 is supported by 64 wheels, each of which has 16 wheels. Each section can rotate 90 degrees and move the entire car to the other. This maneuver is useful when removing bars.
Due to the design and engineering of the bridge, the machines that have been put into operation can install around 730 crates over their lifetime. 40% of them are able to collect more than 1,000 craters. The average service life is more than four years. China uses these machines mainly to build a radar bridge.
